During 2020 the BA/MA(Hons) Architecture programme at ESALA sought to initiate an annual archiving of student work that provided a cross section of all courses and studios active in the undergraduate degree. For two years previous, the student-driven establishment of a similar practice within the MArch programme had generated a platform for studio output to remain visually present and referential within the life of the school. This provided a point of departure. The wider extents of the undergraduate programme and demands of placing diverse content from across years and courses necessitated new structures and formats to hold work in a single container.

Since inception, the catalogue has continued to develop as two further editions in 2021 and 2022 to capture documentation of wider school programming and the graduate show exhibition itself.
